The need for companies to invest in the well-being of their employees has never been more apparent than in the last few years. According to the 2022 Gallup State of the Global Workforce report, employee stress hit a new all-time high. A critical factor in employee mental health is their relationships at work—specifically their relationship with their manager. Research shows that someone’s manager has as much of an impact on their mental health as their significant other and even more of an impact than their therapist or doctor. That’s a jarring stat.
